Question of the Day

According to a new survey, one in four Americans read not a single book this past year (for the full and even more depressing version, see http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/328550_reading22.html). So, like, why are we writing?

The reason why we are still writing is that it is still an avid form of expression. Sure, reading might not be one of the most popular things to do among Americans, but there are still people that do read. The people we are writing for are those people. The ones who share our interest in self-growth and enjoy it as a form of entertainment. With our fast passed, "on the go", society one could see why many don't read. Our environment is not conductive to reading, so in the end I believe it is the environment we are in that matters the most. Although, I do have faith that in the future reading will become more prominent, or at the least have a more substantial of growth.
